Jim & Trina Bruno, as Knock On Wood, create beautiful jewelry boxes at their home studio in upstate New York.
Jim graduated with a BA in history from the State University of NY@Buffalo in 1971. His first love, however, was woodworking, and he followed his path to become a professional cabinet-maker.
Trina has always been an artist and intrigued by good design. She graduated with a BFA in painting from the State University of NY @Buffalo in 1972 and an MFA in painting from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1974.
In 1970, Jim made his first jewelry box for Trina, never guessing how this would eventually shape the rest of their lives.
In 1994, a desire to combine their skills led to the creation of a signature line of fine jewelry boxes.
Trina's emphasis on timeless, sophisticated design and highly functional interiors; combined with Jim's 30 plus years of fine woodworking experience create jewelry boxes at the highest level of craftsmanship.
